Now, this certainly is a rarity in the US!
How long it took us to find a ("real") loaf of bread in Winston-Salem nearly caused me a shock :P (Of course, New York is more of a cosmopolitan city, so I understand things are different there).
After flipping its virtual pages, I can say that this is one amazing blog :) Keek the hard work up, and remember to eat properly!
Speaking of which, let me drop you a (not really funny, British) joke:
It's about this man who goes to the doctor and shows up with a carrot coming out his left ear, a (peeled) banana in his right ear, tomato sauce all over his face and chips inside both his nosetrils.
-What's wrong with me?-he asks.
-I would say-the doctor answers-you, sir, are not eating properly.
(Now you laugh).

mmm, snout. Great post! I'm excited to check this place out. The greens look yummy too. My favorite place to stare at meat is Bayard Meat Market in Manhattan's Chinatown. I also find the meat counter at Pacific Supermarket in Jackson Heights strangely calming.
